Debian buildHi ...
I have been cleaning up and build a set of debian packages for the XFC library, to prepare for future extensions to the library. I have only tested these on a debian testing installation, and they are not signed, but all the debian stuff is in my local subversion branch. To easily install on debian (and I hope ubuntu too) add the following line to your /etc/apt/sources.list : deb http://lue.dk/debian/ ./ and do the apt-get dance :-) Hope this will make it more easy to check out the XFC lib and see the demo Jeff made. /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

So, - I updated my Debian (# apt-get dist-upgrade), then: - I removed my /usr/local installation of Xfc, then: - I attempted to install Xfc using the .deb repository you indicated. I guess my problem is that I have installed GTK+ 2.10, and i have done so by updating testing (etch) with Norbert Tretkowski's packages (http://www.inittab.de). I will try to fix this in the current packages, but when printing is ready in XFC I will need GTK+ 2.10 :-) > Note that my Debian is pointing to the etch repository (same as > 'testing' at the moment). Yes, the problem is ... your debian installation is "pure" mine is not ... i will try to fix this later today ... Thanks for the report, next time I will make sure to test it on a more pure Debian installation. Ps: I will make a note here when I am done ! /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

Done Building dependency tree... Done The following extra packages will be installed: libxfccore libxfcui The following NEW packages will be installed: libxfccore libxfcui xfc-demo 0 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 0 to remove and 13 not upgraded. Need to get 316kB/1140kB of archives. After unpacking 4014kB of additional disk space will be used. Do you want to continue [Y/n]? (Yes !) .... And xfc-demo runs with success. Thank you! ...but then this command doesn't work anymore: % pkg-config --libs xfc-4.3 and I need it to develop using Xfc Did I miss something ? No, there are en pkg-config entry per library part, and I guess what you need is : pkg-config xfcui-4.3 --libs hope this helps.. /BL _______________________________________________ Xfc-dev mailing list Xfc-dev@... http://foo-projects.org/mailman/listinfo/xfc-dev |

I should have checked my configure.ac: PKG_CHECK_MODULES(XFCUI, xfcui-4.3 >= $XFCUI_REQUIRED_VERSION) The error is probably in my code... Sorry. Thanks for the help. And thanks a lot for preparing Xfc(++) Debian packages!!! Good night.
