Debian squeeze installer for lemote and gdium netbooks?

Hi,

As part of the GCC Compile Farm project (1) I have one
lemote and one gdium netbook (through OLPH program).

I'm thinking of upgrading them: is there a debian installer to test
for those machines? If not what is needed to get there?

For my particular environment I don't care if X11 or wifi don't work as
long as I have wired ethernet and some form of console. I can also boot
through TFTP and have root over NFS if needed.

The debian mips page (2) doesn't mention those mips netbooks
which are the only current end-user mips machines one can buy new.

Thanks in advance,

Laurent

Concerning the Yeeloong netbook from Lemote, see:

http://wiki.gnewsense.org/Projects/GNewSenseToMIPS

for the installation instruction of the debian based Gnewsense distribution.

You may find background infos here too:

Samy

There isn't.  I think the biggest problems at the moment is that the
Loongson 2F is still not supported in the mainline kernel.  Once this
is done, it should be relatively easy to take the debian-installer
patches from GNewSense and integrate them.

Wu Zhangjin, what's the status of getting 2F support into the mainline
kernel?

Currently, all of the latest 2E support and the necessary preparation
for 2F(including some fixes for the common drivers of loongson2f family
machines) have been in linus' git repo or applied by Ralf for queueing
into the next 2.6.33.

I hope the basic support for loongson2f famlily machines will enter into
2.6.33 and will try my best to push it in the coming weeks.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi,

My gdium hardware died so I ordered a fuloong 6004 mini PC and
received it this morning. It is running by default a derivative of lenny
("openrays") with kernel 2.6.27.1 and abi=32 only libc and userspace.

I've seen lots of kernel/loongson patch activity, let me know
when there's something to test :).

Thanks in advance,

Laurent
