Default Window Manager used in Mandriva 2006

Can somebody remind me of the default window manager used in Mandriva
2006?

(Somebody told me once there was no such thing as Mandriva2006--I got a
CD from somewhere (maybe my local lug) labeled Mandriva 2006.) If that
is really true, maybe I need the name of the default window manager
used in Mandriva (Mandrake?) 10.2, or Mandriva 2007--I'm fairly sure it
didn't change very often or ever.)

The reason I ask is that I now have a Debian 5.0 installation with some
problems, and I'm beginning to suspect they are related to using kwin
as the window manager.  I might try to switch back.

Oh, if it makes a difference, I always used KDE as my desktop in
Mandrake/Mandriva.

I think that KDE has always been the default window manager in Mandriva.

Well, it changed with the new Gnome - KDE - LXDE - XFCE versions.

Both Gnome and KDE are available on release media. Mandriva describes
itself as being "desktop agnostic".
