Re: Developer GuideHi Joern
Thanks for the reply. I am just starting a project with Xforms and I have decided to use Chiba so I'm still not sure what I will need :-) but I can work as a "read-tester" if you want. My profile is Java Developer with good knowledge of XML, XSL,.... and a "just for living" knowldge of HTML, CSS and JScript.

Re : Developer GuideHi Joern, hi all,
As far as I'm concerned, I would like to read about (at least): - a more or less detailed description of what happens in the whole process of serving and - examples, examples, examples, which would be very helpful wrt tricky things like nested binds (and in general, xforms:repeat's). How to declare the binds in the model, how to reference them later in the form. Where relative paths apply and where absolute paths are needed. These are things I have trouble with these days. - do's and don'ts that may be helpful. ----- Message d'origine ---- De : Joern Turner <joern.turner@...> À : islegmar@... Cc : chiba-users@... Re: Re : Developer GuideThanks a lot.
I'll certainly regard your post when working on it. As you refer to examples: we currently work on setting up our 'XFormsFeatureExplorer' initiative. We believe that live examples with explanations alongside much more to get into XForms than reading long tutorials. So we decided to start XForms pages that show example markup along with the real running form. The reference pages for all control and group, repeat, switch are ready now and will be part of the next release. We'll then continue extending these example pages that are meant to be used as a reference if you're unsure about the syntax or specialized more complicated patterns like repeat paging, event handling issues, actions and submission patterns. And not to forget of course repeats. Re: Developer GuideThanks for the offer,
i'll send you a working copy of our current document tomorrow. There's a user's guide (already finished i hope) and a developer guide (mostly to be written). Always thankful for a helping hand - just being too blind now of what people might want to read and how good explanations really are. Feel free to comment and add your suggestions for additional content. Joern 2009/11/5 Legido Martínez, Isidoro <islegmar@...>: > Hi Joern > Thanks for the reply. Re : Re : Developer GuideI didn't try that link, I started with the ChibaCookBook included in Chiba 2.3 As an example, while trying to solve a bug, I discovered that some <xforms:bind> elements in the model are considered as readonly even though there is no readonly="true()" attribute. That happended for repeaters, hence my previous suggestion. De : Tambet Matiisen <tambet.matiisen@...> À : chiba-users@... Re: Re : Re : Developer GuideCan you please give a markup sample that shows your problem. Otherwise
it's hard to say if things are right or not. Ideally you have a complete form reduced to the barebones of your problem that we can run ourselves. Nodes can become readonly by calculate attributes for instance. Re : Re : Re : Developer GuideOK. I'm sending you the whole xhtml file in its readonly version (ending with "RO.xhtml"). Unfortunately, we have custom uri schemes in it so the file will not be "runnable" as-is.
Adding <readonly="true()"> on line 61 causes a problem. We need to remove the readonly attribute to have the form display in the web client. If left in the file, we get an exception reading (paraphrase) "this bind already has attribute readonly". Thanks for the interest. ----- Message d'origine ---- De : Joern Turner <joern.turner@...> À : Vodoo Moth <vodoomoth@...> Cc : Tambet Matiisen <tambet.matiisen@...>; chiba-users@... This is the correct behavior as per spec as there's already a readonly modelitem at the node bound by that bind element. Line 61 is binding to ArticleTechParagrapheRW/field_23/associationItem which is already be used in line 57 (in that case with a predicate). Nevertheless in line 61 you try to again add the readonly property causing the exception. The XForms spec. allows only one modelitem per type (readonly, valid, required, relevant, type and calculate) for a Node in the instance. Probably that will change in future versions. Chiba 3 behaves a bit more friendly by not just throwing he exception but raising a xforms-binding-exception. > > Thanks for the interest. > > > ----- Message d'origine ---- > De : Joern Turner <joern.turner@...> > À : Vodoo Moth <vodoomoth@...> > Cc : Tambet Matiisen <tambet.matiisen@...>; chiba-users@... > Envoyé le : Mar 10 Novembre 2009, 15 h 08 min 53 s > Objet : Re: [Chiba-users] Re : Re : Developer Guide > > Can you please give a markup sample that shows your problem.
