Hi,

As most of yo seen in the 2.26 release, we had some problems with the gnome-power-manager package.
This is mainly because gnome is not only using HAL, but also the devicekit packages.
These packages are for hot-swappable things.

1 of the a power unit for laptops, SSD cards, USB devices.
Those devicekits are an extra on top of HAL, and should be used with HAL. (we might need to rebuild HAL for that even.

Which devicekits do we need ?

Devicekit-disks
Devicekit-power

I will try and tests these.

anyone has any comments on these packages ?

rgds,

Tyrael

Rolling back build numbers for 13

by Tiago "Salvador" Souza :: Rate this Message:

Reply to Author | View Threaded | Show Only this Message

Hello all,

I think we should rollback the build numbers for packages under 13, the
package format changed so there is no way someone can make the mistake,
so instead of having policykit on revision 12, I suggest we roll it back
to 1.

Best Wishes,

Why ?
What is the problem with revision 13 ? and in any case when a new
version is out it will be rolled back to one.

Well, I think it could be used to better keep track of how many times we
got to build something to work, like polkit, i rolled back pk but I can
get it back if needed.

Why should we rebuild something that already works ?

Maybe you didnt get what I wanted to say. I wanted to say that why we
should downgrade the version number of the build just to count how
many times we have rebuild a package.
If we rebuilt it several times on slack 12.2 and now its working
doesnt mean we will need to rebuild it the same number of times again
on slackware 13.0 so its easily bumped up for just a number and thats
it.

Yeah, I got it, I rolled back probably a couple of packages, I hope that
isn't an issue, but I bumped up the numbers for the newer ones so we
should be fine.

Thanks!
