Directory website re-organizationHi all,
I had a few talks with Emmanuel and Stefan Seelmann lately about the website and we feel there's a need to do some re-organization. We all think the link to Triplesec in the header should be removed and placed on the left side of the window in the sandbox section (maybe the code itself should be move to the sandbox in svn?). We think we should focus the attention on the two projects that are mature and working well, Apache DS and Studio. We also all agreed that it did not make sense anymore to keep the link to Apache 1.0 in the header and that Apache DS 1.5 should simply be renamed as 'Apache DS'. It would be very great to achieve this re-organization just before the release of Studio 1.5 and the start of ApacheCon US. It would be a great timing... Thoughts? Any other suggestion? Regards, Pierre-Arnaud |

Where do we put generated project documentation like e.g. Javadocs? Oxylos is dead, so the links aren't working. I suggest to upload generated docs for released versions to p.a.o:/www/directory.apache.org/[apacheds|studio]/gen-docs/{version}/ and links it to there, e.g. for Studio 1.5 -> http://directory.apache.org/studio/gen-docs/1.5/index.html Regards Felix -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.13 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkroLL4ACgkQ2lZVCB08qHH3iACgqiw8Cp9Erg5P8yWMfpY5Sf5T oJMAoNExmwBV94EE9FwopO0gFk5y8cVR =/mRa -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Hash: SHA1 I started uploading the generated docs for Studio version 1.4.0.v20090407. It can be found/linked @ http://directory.apache.org/studio/gen-docs/1.4.0.v20090407/index.html http://directory.apache.org/studio/gen-docs/ I'm starting now with the apacheds docs for 1.5.5. What about the shared documentation? There doesn't exists a directory on p.a.o/www/directory.apache.org. -> Just leave it out? Re: Directory website re-organizationHi Felix,
This documentation deployment idea is a very good one. +1 Maybe a 'p.a.o/www/directory.apache.org/shared' folder could be created to hold the generated docs. Then, it could be linked from both ApacheDS and Studio web pages. Re: Directory website re-organizationThanks Felix,
I could see this using the 140.211.11.10:80 proxy. Re: Directory website re-organizationHi guys,
That's done. Between yesterday and this morning I deployed a new version of the website(s). I moved links around, in the header and the navigation part of each website. I also made some subtle refinements in the webpage design. Last but not least, the website(s) is now fully compatible with IE 6 to 8 (the previous version was looking very bad...). WDYT ? BTW saw something minor. The "testimonies" link should read testimonials instead.
