Displacements at a given point

Hi Everyone,

I would like to output the displacement history for a particular point which is at a given distance from a surface.

I know that I can request history output for a nearby node.  But how can I get history output for the point at its exact position?

You could define a reference point at the location you are interested
in, then associate a dummy mass element with this point.  Tie the point
to the rest of the model using a constraint equation, and request
history output at this point.

You may also want to look at the keyword *NODE PRINT. Make a set out of the point that you want to keep track of. You can have it print out the information at a desired frequency.
