Do It.http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/47959-clinic-ido-iti-on-new-album-tour Clinic Do It on New Album, Tour Back with "an energized and increasingly psych-rock influenced sound" (sez a press release), the spookily surgical garage-rocking Liverpudlians of Clinic will issue Do It, their fifth LP, April 8 on Domino Records. The disc will be preceded by the single for "Free Not Free" (wait, which is it?), which, along with B-side "Thor", will be available for free download-- complete with artwork-- through the band's website starting February 1. And here you thought the only cool schwag at the free Clinic were those glow-in-the-dark jimmy hats! Clinic will begin accepting appointments for their bizarre brand of house calls beginning on Do It's release date, with a handful of UK dates preceding a hop over the pond for a North American trek in May. They'll preview their well-honed surgical skills over the radio a couple times before that, with a live session January 24 on Marc Riley's show on BBC Radio 6, and invite winners of a contest on their website to join them in Liverpool February 1 for a similar gig on Radio Merseyside. Want the cold, sterile, cut-and-dry facts? They're all here, behind this thing. Re: Do It.I'm already dying to hear this, April feels so far away. But I managed to wait for "Visitations" by listening to "Tusk" and "Jigsaw Man" over and over again so I guess I can do the same with "Free Not Free" and "Thor".
Now if only there were a Canadian date closer to me on that tour schedule... |

Re: Do It.well...seeing as how every clinic release has been better than the one before it, i'd say this is pretty good news.
it'll be interesting to see what the single will be like. tusk was kind of an unusual choice for visitations, not exactly a signature track on that album (still my favorite heavy cliniuc punk song tho). |

Re: Do It.strange the way pitchfork still covers clinic in news stories but usually sticks the boot in once the lp comes out

Re: Do It.That's the way they roll.

Re: Do It.i think pitchfork was just, y'know.. reporting.
i dont see why they'd eschew reportage on a popular band with an ardent fanbase just because theyve reviewed their last two albums unfavorably. and to be fair, both of those reviews were by the same guy. it's funny how people think of "Pitchfork" as this collective entity... it's just individual people with individual opinions. i'm sure probably half the people who write for it will vehemently disagree with any given review. |

Re: Do It.People do that with any magazine or media site.
In general, a lot of magazines or media sites seem to have "tendencies" and similarities in their opinions and things they do and don't like, things they choose to cover and how they choose to cover them. Which is perhaps why those people choose to write for those publications or sites. Any writer who is looking for publication is told to be familiar with the kind of stuff that publication puts out. Often an editor or editorial staff will guide or influence the general tone of a publication or site. And I think a lot of the time individual reviewers for the most part don't have a distinctive identity in the way they write, etc., which is what makes people tend to view the posts and articles as being from the publication or site's point of view, and not individual points of view. |

Re: Do It.I hope they play to include a CD in the vinyl again this time like they did with Visitations. Had I known they were going to do that, I would have bought the vinyl version.
