I've just had the manufacturer of a trail camera replace a unit
that failed on me. In discussions, he said I should use alkaline
rather than rechargeable batteries for the higher voltage. I've
tended to use rechargeables for economic reasons, and, altho' there
is no reason to suspect they was the cause of the original camera's
failure, he said I should be certain those batteries were "good".
I use the same batteries in a potato masher flash unit and they
work fine. Even with the lower voltage the flash unit recycles quickly.
Do rechargeable batteries tend to fail and cause damage to
cameras, flash units, etc?
