I'm still in (Western) Australia 'til end of February. I will read the mails to the core list, every now and than. Anything urgent? After we have solved the Tine 2.0 problem, the admins wanted to solve the Nigel Vickers problem. Re: Do we still have project admins???Hi Lars,
imho the Nigle case has realy been discussed enough: http://www.nabble.com/New-developer-Nigel-Vickers-to13963085s3741.html#a14105487 (to all: read those in order to make your own mind who has which team-player qualifications) and imho a Headline like "Do we still have project admins" is as damaging to the project as your last egw20 (press release, why current egw is so bad etc) fuss. according to the rules everything is okay: ---- 2. Medior Member When the mentor thinks the Member is ready for the next stage the mentor sends a request to admins@egroupware.org for changing the status of the member from Junior to Medior. If this request is approved the member is now Medior Member. This will be announced on the core-list He will get all access he needs for his new task, e.g. access to http://egroupware.org/egroupware or SVN commit rights or ssh-access to egroupware.org. He can now work as a normal team member but the Mentor is still responsible for his work. If problems occur the admin team will contact the mentor. ---- It's the admins to decide and there was no objection by the admins. It doesn't matter if you personally dislike Nigel. You wrote: "I would never try to bring someone into the project you would be uncomfortable with. But of course I can not not expect the same from you. I wish you much luck with your decision. " So you accepted the decision (so you don't like it). But there is nothing you can do. Everything has been done according to rules. In this context you might think about being more carefull writing this" no Admin ??? "stuff. I just wanted to say this, because I really think admins are doing great and don't want to let this accusations pass unchallenged. On the other hand I am regularly watching your tine 2.0 progress, I think there are some usability things we all can learn, which way the code will take in the end ;-) Might it no be possible somehow to integrate new tine apps like CRM in 1.x? Know I am really afraid your effort might be sort of lost for the project, because the gap ( on software architecture) is to big. All the best, Frank
