While developing a module, I ran into a new problem with a twist. When
submitting a form, I get a white screen. I have gone so far as to remove
validate and submit functions with the same result. Ideas? Thanks.

Create content image return a connection interrupted

Hi all,

I'm not sure it's an image, filefield or imagefield module issue but
while trying to upload anything more than ~60kb i get this error.

Connection Interrupted
The document contains no data.
The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try
again.

These are my options in php.ini

file_uploads On On
upload_max_filesize 2M 2M
upload_tmp_dir no value no value
post_max_size 8M 8M

Any help? I've tried it on two different installations and i get the same issue.

Help to create a panel page in a node's sub-path

For a directory to be readable it has to have read *and* execute

permissions. With 444 you're setting things to only read. That's

correct for reading a file, but not a directory.

I'd try the taxonomy_hide[1] module. I haven't used this module
myself, so try at your own risk.

The Taxonomy Access Control (TAC) module is used for controlling
access to nodes based on assigned taxonomy terms. This allows you to
set up a vocabulary and deny or allow user roles access to these nodes
based on the terms of the vocab.

This is the kind of thing that I tend not to try to figure out since starting over seems the path of least resistance. Do you have anything to lose by starting over completely?

If the installer script already ran, don't forget to drop all the tables in the db before you start. I'm presuming you didn't get as far as creating content given the errors you are getting.

Drupal with Paypal

Hi,
I've a page type content in my site. This page has a html form. On submitting the form, I invoke a url which is mapped to a callback function. In this call back function, I need to perform validation. If validation succeeds, I need to forward request to paypal for the user to make payment. I downloaded and enabled paypal module, but not sure how to achieve this functionality. In other words, how do I programmatically forward the user request to paypal site. Please let me know. Appreciate your help. If there is a better alternative also, please let me know.

I decided to write something of my own.
The idea was I want to track hit history that took to an event.
I don't want to track all hits, but just selected ones containing
a parameter in the url.

I'd like to build up a sort of API.

Several modules *may* trigger "events" (events looks like "actions"
in D6 somehow).
Modules *may* provide advanced event logging (extra data).

Part of the problems are in these *may*.

That may imply an abuse of "function_exists".
Another problem is turning on and off extra data logging.

Currently I have a function that "relate" hit history to events.

function tracky_event() {
$args = function_get_args();
$event = array_shift($args);
// save and return eventid
// ...
$args = array_unshift($args, $eventid);
module_invoke_all('tracky_'.$event, $args);
}

Now I can build for each module/event an additional module that will
log extra data and have install/uninstall function for tables that
will store extra data.

Now I could define the extra data logging modules in other modules
so that table creation and extra logging becomes optional.

I got this working but:
- I didn't get rid of the function_exists problem if I really want
to make my modules optionally dependent on the general tracking
module.
- naming of hooks and modules is going to be a pain
- having finer control on what events I want to log with more
details a) requires a module for each module/hook b) hand made
install/uninstall function for each event I'd like to track

Is there something I miss that drupal offers that could make all this
cleaner?

Good morning,

I want to thank those of you who helped me with the insert-views solution to adding a view to a book...it worked beautifully!

Next question: I would think this is pretty basic, but I'm not seeing an obvious answer. Currently, we have the option of publishing a story to the front page using "Promoted to Front Page". I need to do this for a page other than the front home page, so that I can use the scheduler module to automatically take that content off at the desired expiration date.

In general, the page is an "Announcements" page on an employee intranet site. The individual announcements have expiration dates, but the entire Announcements node shouldn't ever expire.

Does that make sense?

MiniPanels

I have a site www.example.com/nestor/site1 and I create site www.example.com/nestor/site2
I do a mysqldump of site1 into site1.sql and edit this file and change all the 'site1' strings to 'site2'
and save it as site2.sql
After this I create a site2 database and read in the site2.sql file contents into the site2 database.

When I look at my new site www.example.com/nestor/site2 everything shows up except fo the
minipanels that I had created on my site1. On my new site all the minipanels are there but the code
that they should have is empty, that is the reason why the minipanels blocks do not show on site2.

What do I need to do to dump the information for my minipanels?

Drupal terminal instead shell access...to get Drush functionality?

Hi!

I would love to use Drush and I see some work being done in that

but it is not explicit where at is it now and what is needed for this
to function? maybe one time shell access to install Drush or something
more?

It's not "current", but a related module is the Views Date Range argument
handler:

http://drupal.org/project/views_daterange

That works by giving you a configurable summary view that when you click on a
link gives you whatever range of dates that is. It has no way to detect
"current", so it won't solve your use case entirely, but it may be useful for
inspiration at least.

You can do it as follows if you are using latest version of the views
module:
1. Create the node link field in the view.
2. Rewrite the output of the node link field to the page view url.

I see a couple ways to do this.

1. Add a cck field to your node with the quarter. The user has to
select the correct quarter from a list of acceptable values. This is
the absolute simplest way I can think of doing this.

2. Use a Computed Field[1]. You should be able to configure it to
set the correct quarter based on some date field (either a CCK date,
or one of the nodes dates). I've never used this module so YMMV.
This looks like it'd be the cleanest solution.

3. Use a in between filter on your date field in views. Make a
custom module with a hook_form_alter to hide the min and max fields,
add a dropdown with the quarter and write some javascript to set the
min and max.

The following assumes that you have the Views module installed:
http://drupal.org/project/views

Create a view and use the filters section and click in the small+
symbol and select the followinf filter: "node: post date". Or, if you
have a custom date field you created for that content type (requires
both the cck http://drupal.org/project/cck and date http://drupal.org/project/date
modules), then select the filter "content: field_<your custom field
name>".

Those date filters can handle selecting dates within a range.

I'm not 100% sure I understood the question. Let me know if this helped.

I'm already using Google Analytics (and related drupal module).
I'll give a look to piwik, since I'd prefer not to share my data
with Google (there should be a piwik module too).

But it seems it doesn't suit:
- I'd like to use it for affiliates
- I'd like to use it to track advertisement campaign and offer an
interface to build them
- I'd like to avoid js

Any other module that could fit or just be an inspiration?
