Eclipses hangs showing "Resolving" (ivy) on startup

We are having an intermittent problem with Eclipse hanging on startup.  the progress bar reports "Ivy Resolve job of ..." in the progress bar.

What information can I provide to help debug this?

Since IvyDE 2 Eclipse shouldn't hang on startup, you should be able to work a little bit. Maybe you want to disable the resolve on startup:
