Endian 2.3 and Intrusion Detection/Prevention

I just installed the 2.3 RC1 and I seem to be having a problem with the intrusion detection/prevention.  It is enabled:

But when I go to the status or main dashboard, it shows as not running:

Is it running or is it not?  What's going on here?  I couldn't seem to find anything about this.  Thanks!

Use ps -e | grep snort to see if it is indeed running, if not have a
look on /var/log/messages

Probably the issue is related with this:
