Entering a "Bonus EP" as "(bonus disc)"?

Hey there,

I'm not sure if I've ever brought anything up with MB-Users so, first off: Hi.

That taken care of, I have a question about a release that comes with
a disc labeled "bonus ep", and how that disc should be entered into
MusicBrainz.

This release in question here is of Montreal's "The Sunlandic Twins".
As you can see in the link I've included below, the disc I'm referring
to is labeled "the sunlandic twins  bonus ep". It's entry in
MusicBrainz, though, ignores the "bonus ep" and lists it as "The
Sunlandic Twins (bonus disc)".

I felt that a disc labeled "bonus ep" and entered as "bonus disc" is
breaking EP Style, which states, in it's entirety, "If the word "EP"
or "E.P." is part of a title, it should be retained.". So I entered an
edit to change the title back to "The Sunlandic Twins (bonus EP)"

I realized some time afterward that this kinda breaks Disc Number
Style, and that a bonus disc that's explictly titled "bonus ep" should
technically be listed as (bonus disc: bonus EP), dispite how
repetitive that looks.

User uraani, however, believes that the disc should be labeled (bonus
disc) as it is, and that adding the "EP" would be redundant since the
release attribute already covers that fact.


Are there any opinions on this?
I am extremely confident that the labeling of the disc, plus the
listing on the website, show that "Bonus EP" is intended as part of
the title. And, as per EP Style, "EP" should remain as part of the
ReleaseTitle.

uraani believes that "Bonus EP" is something other than a title, and
that this should be treated as an un-named (bonus disc).

Both of us agree that applying Disc Number Style to get (bonus disc:
bonus EP), while technically correct, is redundant. Though, we have
seperate reasons.


I'm interested in your opinions even if you're not convinced that
-this- realease in particular should be named "(bonus EP)". Rather,
I'm asking if all "Bonus EP"s, reguardless of labeling, should be
reduced to (bonus disc) when entered into musicbrainz. And, if so,
could someone edit Disc Number Style to reflect this?


There's some discussion on my edit #10367571 (also linked below),
though the first No didn't come until 5 hours before expiration, so
it's likely to be closed and Failed by the time you read this. Oh
well.
