Entity code generationHi I am an NB newb. Is it possible to modify the way that code
is generated, that is influence the code that is generated, rather than
subsequently modify it? For example, force the generator to produce
lists instead of collections, use in-house naming conventions, etc. If this is not currently possible, does
anybody know if any plans are afoot? Regards Nick Beare Developer Vixensoft Tel: 01420

Re: Entity code generation-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1 Nick, I advanced this same suggestion about two years back when this feature first appeared in NB 5.5. Nobody ever responded to my suggestion (and I should have opened an RFE in bugzilla, but I did not). I have been using JDO 1 since 2002 (KodoJDO from Solarmetric/BEA/Oracle), and one of the very nice tools that product included was a code generator that supported exactly the kinds of features that you mention. Specifically, I often used the customization feature to change class names, field names and types, and it even provided for the suppression of unneeded reverse mappings and such. This would be an excellent addition to NB's entity class generation, IMO. Just my $0.02. Thanks, Bill Nick Beare wrote: | Hi | | | | I am an NB newb. | | | | Is it possible to modify the way that code is generated, that is | influence the code that is generated, rather than subsequently modify it? | | For example, force the generator to produce lists instead of | collections, use in-house naming conventions, etc. | | | | If this is not currently possible, does anybody know if any plans are afoot? | | | | Regards | | | | Nick Beare | | Developer | | Vixensoft | | **Tel:** 01420 89898 | | **Fax:** 01420 541223 | **Web:** www.vixensoft.co.uk <blocked::http://www.vixensoft.co.uk/> | | **Head Office: **Market House, Lenten Street, Alton, Hampshire. Re: Entity code generationI think the best way to vote/track/resolve such issues are through
issuezilla. Pl. file an issue as enhancement or bug against the appropriate component/sub-component and discuss with the owners.
