Epson Ink credit [1 Attachment]Don't know if I can send attachments but here is one worth $40 to $100 for some people.
Read through it if you have or had an Epson printer. Now they need to do the same for Lexmark. Filling the landfill with printers because it is cheaper to buy a new printer with ink than to refill the ink isn't helping the environment. Regards, Kyle |

Re: Epson Ink credit [1 AttachmentGood news that someone took this issue seriously, and did something about it. No kidding about the Lexmark, too. I had one, the cartridges were priced out of this world, and impossible to find.
I now have a Canon, it prints quite acceptable photos, I ignore the warnings on running out of ink and have found it will let me print for weeks and weeks after the first warning comes up. I came across this comparison of costs on the net a long time ago, but it still is valid today. Price are US per gallon, as you can see we Canadian get hosed on most of these items as well. Compared with Gasoline... Think a gallon of gas is expensive? This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective. Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29...$10.32 per gallon Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19...$9.52 per gallon Gatorade 20 oz $1.59...$10.17 per gallon Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25...$10.00 per gallon Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15...$33.60 per gallon Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35...$178.13 per gallon Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85...$123.20 per gallon Whiteout 7 oz $1.39...$25.42 per gallon Scope 1.5 oz $0.99...$84.48 per gallon And this is the REAL KICKER... Evian water 9 oz $1.49..$21.19 per gallon! $21.19 for WATER and the buyers don't even know the source (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.) Ever wonder why printers are so cheap? So they have you hooked for the ink. Someone calculated the cost of the ink at... (you won't believe it...but it is true...) $5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars) So, the next time you're at the pump,be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil or God forbid, Printer Ink! -----Original Message----- From: kyle martens <kyle_martens@...> To: PrairiePhoto@... So it's not all bad. :) Jim |

Re: Re: Epson Ink credit [1 Attachment----- Original Message ----- From: Greg Vincent Subject: Re: Re: [PrairiePhoto] Epson Ink credit [1 Attachment Mind you, gasoline would be considerably more expensive if we had to buy it in 8oz and 16oz bottles :-) and even more expensive if we were limited to 17ml cartridges like our printer ink :-) :-) Heck, why did I say that? I have to go out and get more ink tonight, and more gas on the way to the ink store -- a guy just can't win :-( :-( If you find yourself spending a lot on ink, it might, over time, pay to buy a higher end printer that uses big cartridges. I think my Epson 4800 would, if I used it regularly (anyone want big prints, please get in touch), be quite cheap to run. As it is, I probably spend half my ink on cleaning cycles. bill |
