Error loading SPServerHallo,
After new instalation TOAD Freeware, I am facing the same error. What can I do ? Thanks Pavel Pospisil ----------------------------------------------- From: Scott Wojan <SWW <at> bickelbrewer.com> Subject: TOAD Freeware: Error loading SPServer <http://news.gmane.org/find-root.php?message_id=%3c43CCFE04.09E5.00AC.0%40bi ckelbrewer.com%3e> Newsgroups: gmane.comp.db.oracle.toad.free <http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.db.oracle.toad.free> Date: 2006-01-17 20:24:04 GMT (1 week, 12 hours and 22 minutes ago) When I start TOAD, it gives me the following error: Access Violation at address 00000000. Write of address 00000000 When I click "OK" it then says: Error loading SPServer I can use the Schema browser and the procedure editor but anytime I try to open the SQL window it blows up like this. I have uninstalled/reinstalled and rebooted several times to no avail. Anyone know what's causing this? Thanks, Scott Wojan ----------------------------------------------- |

Re: Error loading SPServer (Workaround)Hello,
I had the same problem. It was caused by the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) feature of XP SP2. I created an exception for TOAD.exe and the problem was gone: - Go to "Control Panel" -> "System" -> Tab "Advanced" - Click on "Settings" under "Performance" - In the "Performance Options" dialog box, click the "Data Execution Prevention" tab - If "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" is selected, click "Add" - Locate TOAD.exe and click "OK" Close TOAD if it was open and try to open it again. I didn't even need to reboot. Hope it helps!
