	Error message trying to convert trl files to gpx by Alan-165 :: Rate this Message: \| View Threaded \| Show Only this Message Hi New to GPSBabel and just downloaded the file and run it on a file and got the following message gpsbabel -t -i alantrl -f C:/Documents and Settings/Alan/My Documents/TrackLogs/Routes/ Arger Fen_4.8l.trl -o gpx,suppresswhite=0,logpoint=0,humminbirdextensions=0,garminextensions=0 -F test123 alan: Read error on C:/Documents and Settings/Alan/My Documents/TrackLogs/Routes/Arger Fen_4.8l.trl Error running gpsbabel: Process exited unsucessfully with code 1 Rinning on Windows XP and the file was creared in V3 of tracklogs. I don't know much about the Alan Map 500 GPS, but http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.4.3/fmt_alantrl.html says that only v2 is supported. We don't have enough information about V3 to support it. Sometimes the same unit is sold under different names, and then things become difficult. Sometimes we have no file extension and the case of data loggers sold under different names is generally handled by using the name of the chipset. Admittedly, even that can be fooled by cases like Holux where they make incompatible changes int he protocol supported by that chipset. We have something like a dozen formats with extensions named "wpt" or "pdb" and it doesn't really make much sense to group those. The reality is that we support a LOT of formats and devices and some reliance on the doc beyond the sort order of the menu is needed.
