I meant synapse.xml file in SYNAPSE_HOME/repository/conf/synapse-config.
But since you are trying to run samples, it's not important.

What was the command you used to start Synapse to run sample 0? Were there
any errors during Synapse startup? As Hiranya has pointed out please check
whether you have deployed SimpleStockQuote service on backend Axis2 sample
server as well.

A step-by-step guide for running sample 0 can be found in "Running the
Sample" section of the Quick Start Guide [1].

All these samples are working as expected. Have you deployed the stock
