I can't get the ethernet port working on my Overo Air/Tobi combination, at least with the fresh build I did over the weekend.
When the system boots up, I see this:
smsc911x: Driver version 2008-10-21.
smsc911x-mdio: probed
eth0: attached PHY driver [Generic PHY] (mii_bus:phy_addr=ffffffff:01, irq=-1)
net eth0: MAC Address: fa:38:7d:7b:0b:af
I have a the file "smsc911x" in /etc/modutils, and /etc/network/interfaces is properly edited.
This combination works just fine from the latest build downloaded from Gumstix.......
Ideas?

P.S.: I asked a while ago about how to have the build process create the file in /etc/modutils but have yet to get a reply.
