In my opinion of course - otherwise I'd apply!

The job specifics.

<Company name snipped>.. is looking for energetic and highly mobile
employees for technical support work all around the world with a
strong customer service focus.
Travelling abroad for up to 10 months of the year, successful
applicants will have the desire to develop the position into a sales
or engineering design role over time.
We are looking for applicants with electrical/mechanical engineering
or business/sales backgrounds or qualifications. You must have a clean
criminal record, full driver's licence and a valid NZ, Aus, European
or US passport.
This role involves:
- Working hard and playing hard
- Travelling to North & South America, Canada, Australia, South Africa
and Europe
- Performing machine installations, routine maintenance and fixing
breakdowns
- Working as a team
- Working individually
- Travelling up to 10 months of the year
- Trips vary in length from 1 week 6 months
- You are paid a base salary + travel allowance to cover food and
accommodation (We cover all travel costs) so the more you travel,
the more you save!

And for all that, they are offering NZ$30 -40K  that's AU$25 - 33K  -
I would expect such a job to be around the AU$60K + !  Apart from the
'We pay your travel costs' (I should damn well expect so) - I can only
think they want an 18 to 24 year old for the job.

The industry? Fruit and Vegetable sorting and weighing systems (no it
isn't Compaq).

It doesn't cost them very much to place the ad, and it may well
attract a few candidates who are interested in it not for the salary,
but for the travel opportunities.  If the person plays the job right,
they will have to pay very little of their money for food and lodging
when they aren't on business trips, which could be worth as much as
another 10k.

Still, they are requiring experience, so I think they are taking
advantage of the poor economy and attracting those that have perhaps
more experience than would be needed, but are having a hard time
finding a suitable job.

Chances are good this kind of job has a lot of turn-over anyway, so
they won't mind losing them once the economy improves.  Also explains
the need for experience - they don't want to spend time training
someone for a position they know is only going to be short term.

$22k-$29k USD is the current conversion.
