Good day Christoph,

After reading about the Music database project at
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/MusicDataBase_Main I am
wondering if the team is looking for a few other small database examples
for inclusion.

I created one that I am willing to freely provide you (with all rights
belonging to OpenOffice.org) that shows some of the less-known features
of HSQL.  It is attached and has no dependencies on macros or add-ons.

If this is something the team is interested in, then let me know and I
will work at making the attached database more presentable.

Hello Valden,

I think it would be excellent to add another example database to the
community repository. Which is seems ot forming on the wiki.

As for spiffing it up, Just a suggestion, first maybe put together a few
words on what each form or query does. If a query will prompt for data maybe
a quick line in a FAQ style file that shows a valid entry and then what
results will be returned.

Sincerely,

Drew

Very nice example.  Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to make
this?

i would propose you to upload it here (then everybody can download it
inside of the oo): http://templates.services.openoffice.org/

I do not believe that is possible at the moment. See,
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Templates/website/guide_en

No doubt an email or two and this can be changed, assuming that was what
one wanted to do.

Yes, as their is so few database examples out there, I'd like to provide
this for people to see that it really does work in OO.o.  Their is an
interest in this and the assumption can be made.

Who needs to send the e-mail to whom?

Correction: the assumption can be made on my part that I want to do
this.  I did not intend to speak for others and their time.  :-)

@drew: you are right .. and it is not a fast fix :( as thorsten told me ..

.. a fast solution could be to create a text doc instead, with a
description of your project which contains a link to your database

For me I have no place to host the file nor do I want to strain the
resources of the development team.

If in the future this template site allows odb files, then I'd be glad
to post a few of my databases on this site for others to use.

Thanks all for your work.  We here in the real-work-environment really
do benefit from your work and some of us want to feed back to help the
cause.  :-)

1. you can discuss such topics in newsgroups like: dev@...
2. Thorsten.Bosbach@... can fix such things
3. databases does not fully fit into the template concept -> databases
are more samples than templates

Well, let's start by looking at what is available.

You can:

1 - host Base files on the extensions site.

2 - host Base files on the Wiki.  The wiki documentation 'How To'
section may be the spot there.

3 - host Base files on the Web Forums - TTBOMK all of them. In the case
of the User Services forums there is a special Tutorial section that may
be right for this.

4 -ask any one of the half dozen OO.o community members that maintain
Base specific (or at least Base sections)  web sites if they would host
if for you.
