Executing two subroutine during analysis

I want to execute two subroutine (abc.f & xyz.f) with one single job file (try.inp).

Could you please suggest me the execution procedure so that I can run the analysis.

I have used following command:  #abaqus job=try user=abc user=xyz

It compile only the last user subroutine (xyz) & give error in message file that "USER SUBROUTINE abc IS MISSING"

An early reply will be highly appreciated

Try to do the following. Introduce one of the subroutines in the other
subroutine file and just compile this one.

Hi,
It is better to have a single file containing  all the subroutines.Just copy all the subroutines in that same file.In  the command line ,specify the name of the file for the 'user' option.

CAE extracting the index of a datume plane

by Maziar Mahzari :: Rate this Message:

| View Threaded | Show Only this Message

Dear All,
I'm using CAE to create a parametric model by scripting. I've defined a cell and it is to be cut by some palnes. I've defined a number of datume planes but how can I refer to them in the cutting command e.g. PartitionCellByDatumPlane(datumPlane=?,cells=...). Is there something like findAt() function for datume objects? Or is there any way of defining a cutting plane without existing vertices?
thanks in advance
M. Mahzari
ps. I don't like to hardcode the index of the datume planes in my script

for a datum it is "id" rather than "index"..sorry I'm not going to get the
syntax right off the top of my head here,
but if you need more help let me know and I'll dig up an example.
You are right you don't want to hard code those..

thanks George for the reply. What I'm gonna do is to cut a cylinder (extruded) by two planes at a specific location. I define two datume planes in my script by DatumPlaneByPrincipalPlane() command.
Next I would like to use the PartitionCellByDatumPlane(datumPlane=?,cells=...) to cut the cell(s). How can I get the id of the datume planes I already defined? because the method requires a single datume plane object.
thanks
maziar

roughly:
datumid=DatumPlaneByPrincipalPlane( ... ).id

PartitionCellByDatumPlane(datumPlane=..part.datums[datumid])

If that's not close enough It will be monday till I can get you a better
example..
