Extract TEXT from the emails before save to database

Is there way to parse the emails just to extract the TEXT content and file names from the emails and save only that data in a db table?

How to do that>

I'm not sure what e-mails you want to parse, or what file names you are
talking about, so it is difficult to answer. Can you explain a bit more
about your environment and what you are trying to do?
