Lower prices, last attempt to sell them so I can add some more modules
to my 200e order without spending more money out of pocket:

Prophet VS Keyboard:
$1100 firm.  Local pickup in Chicago only, unless the buyer somehow
gets a proper case to me to ship it in.

FR-777:
$1200 firm

Quasimidi Sirius:
$700 firm


Buyer pays shipping, and 50% of the paypal fees, unless you pay by
certified check.  E-mail me privately if interested.

I give up... too many flakes and idiotic offers, and no serious
interest from anyone with the ability to actually pay.  Putting
everything in storage for now.

If anyone wants to buy something, I can still go get it from storage,
but the prices have gone back up since I am in no hurry to sell
anything at this point.

If anyone else feels the need to offer me an "economics 101" lesson,
please save it.  I did just specifically state that I am in no hurry
to sell these items, so saying something like this:

"You may be aware that there is an economic crisis which generally
implies that asset prices decline due to reduced ability to pay and
general decline in demand.

If you want to sell you lower prices."

Is kind of pointless and serves no purpose other than to make you seem
like an ass.

The only real 'crisis' here is that a perfectly good 777 and VS, and Sirius
are going into storage!!!!

at $1400.  The $200 delta is no reason not to use a 7's, if a 7's is part of
your sound journey.

The MPD32, however, will rise and fall in value according to the whims of
the global market place.  But who cares.

I agree completely with this. I have a Future Retro 777, but if I  
didn't I'd consider this one as that's a good price. It's the 303 I  
always wanted, but with a synth engine that's simply much more  
powerful, and with a much more flexible sequencer.

I spent years looking for one at a reasonable price but was  
unsuccessful. So around maybe a year ago I went out and bought a FR  
Revolution. It's awesome, I love it, but I lucked into a 777 a few  
months later and now the Revolution is sitting in it's box, waiting  
for someone to buy it. In some ways, the Revolution's software has  
some interesting things that the 777 doesn't have, but the 777 has the  
synth engine.

Don't let this 777 sit in a closet!

This is starting to sound like a fucking PBS fund drive.

This is the sound of me changing the channel.

Obviously, if no one is buying at 1400, or even 1200 dollars, then the
market will not bear either of those prices and it should go even lower.
Sour Grapes because no one wants to pay what you are asking makes the
original poster seem, well, kinda like an ass.

Well, that seems to be a pretty hostile response to what seemed to me  
like two posts that were simply expressing great enthusiasm for the  
777 (one of which was mine).

The thing with pricing is that there are sometimes two versions. One  
is what something will go for and the other is what something is  
actually worth. Now I'm not an economist and many might say that those  
two things are really the same thing. I'm quite content to let my  
Revolution sit in a box, though, rather then sell it for $300. In  
fact, I have a few boxes which I'm perfectly willing to let sit rather  
then sell them for what the market will currently bear as I feel their  
worth is far more than what people might be willing to pay right now.  
Ask me again in a year, maybe prices will rise again to a point where  
I'm comfortable selling my stuff.

I don't even know who the original seller was, but he or she is under  
no obligation to sell something which has a high intrinsic value for  
what is basically a fire sale price. Who's to say if the price should  
be lower? Maybe you would, but it appears that the seller wouldn't. If  
people won't sell for really low prices, over time the trend will  
probably be towards higher prices as the supply will decrease. For six  
months or a year we've seen prices move lower because buyers weren't  
buying at the old higher prices. Maybe that trend is reversing. Again,  
I'm no economist, but I'm certainly not going to sell my x0xb0x or  
Revolution for $300 or $400 each. I'll keep 'em until someone values  
them more.

Just because the market won't bear those prices doesn't mean the  
market is correct.

Where is the logic in this?  You don't want to sell X because no one will pay what you want.  What if no one ever wants to pay what you think your item is worth?  That must be one flawed market, right?  

Anyways, this whole argument is weak: If you can afford to hold off selling something until someone/the market will pay what you want, then what is the issue in the first place?  You obviously don't need the cash that badly, so whack it in a closet, leave it there for a year to "mature" and leave it at that.
