FTP Mirrors please provide HTTP accessHi All,
A few of us would like to request that all FTP mirrors start allowing HTTP access to the same URL. What we are looking for is the path to be the same. i.e. only the the protocol should change. For example, we should be able to change: ftp://ftp4.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/dits-2.2.34.tar.gz into: http://ftp4.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/dits-2.2.34.tar.gz If you run a FTP mirror, please set this up. If you are worried about running something big like Apache, perhaps running a smaller HTTP server like thttpd would work for you. Regards, Brad Davis (with admins hat on) _______________________________________________ freebsd-hubs@... mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-hubs To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-hubs-unsubscribe@..." |
