I am not sure if you read Wired (http://tinyurl.com/d2hhks) but here is an opportunity to participate in a free course on iPhone Development through Stanford University.

Video recordings of Stanford's 10-week computer science class, taught by two Apple employees, will be freely downloadable through Apple's iTunes U educational channel. The course's syllabus and slides will be freely available on iTunes as well.

I think this is a great opportunity for your own professional development not to say the least for our students.

If you find other things like this available to everyone, please share them with the list.

Susan

Thanks for sharing Martin :)

In the tradition of PIMGI link-dumps I thought maybe the collection of
links I have in my iPhone-dev folder might be of interest to others:

I'm finding the IGDA Mobile and Casual Games SIGs and Mailing Lists
useful - a few people lately have been sharing sales figures,
including when they have changed the App price, which has been really
interesting. We will probably do the same once our Apps get into the
store since it's been so helpful to see other peoples' sales figures.

Not according to that story.

The developer spent $500 on a "designer".

" His team? Himself, mainly, with a little bit of help from a friend
and a contracted designer (whom he paid $500)"

There's enough mythology about iPhone development around without
adding that kind of exaggeration ;-)

On which topic, who in Perth is doing graphics for iPhone? I'm going
to need some assistance in that area myself, although to my intense
frustration my current double workload means I probably won't be doing
any serious development on iPhone until after I get back from WWDC in
June.

Those were just shorthand notes to self. We've had one of our pretty
basic Apps programmed for US$200. Not that it will necessarily be
successful, but it's certainly no myth that you can have an App
developed for very low cost compared to most platforms.
