FW ports on new macbooks

HI,

I was wandering if new macbook pros are compatible with firewire 400  
machines, as they only have a firewire 800 port ??
if so, I guess there should exist a cable from fw800 to fw400 right ??

Yes, there are adapters that work fine.

Yes. Amazon has some Sonnet adapters that are pretty cheap: $10-12US.  
Cables are more expensive. Just moved the disk image from a Mac Mimi  
to a MacBook Pro via fw400 drive interfaces and a 400->800 adapter  
cable. Nary a hitch...
