While development on the next version of FarCry 5.2 has been
proceeding at a furious pace, there has been a whole raft of small
fixes, and enhancements for the current FarCry 5.1 release. Get the
latest cumulative roll-up of enhancements, bug fixes and tweaks.

For those that aren’t FarCry Community regulars, here’s a quick run
down of highlights from recent patch releases:

5.1.6: Tree permissions performance optimisation (FC-1870) and a
variety of miscellaneous changes. Full release notes
http://www.farcrycore.org/code-branch/5-1-6
5.1.5: Railo engine compatibility fixes. Full release notes
http://www.farcrycore.org/code-branch/5-1-5
5.1.4: Application initialisation performance improvement (FC-1821);
updateapp restarts approximately three times faster. Fixed site
overview tree permission UI and related performance (FC-1842). Full
release notes http://www.farcrycore.org/code-branch/5-1-4
5.1.3: Patches a potential security flaw i some deployment
configurations; strong recommendation to upgrade. Full release notes
http://www.farcrycore.org/code-branch/5-1-3
5.1.2: Patched an old content security flaw (FC-1790), and various
updates to form tools (especially State), among other minor chnages.
Full release notes http://www.farcrycore.org/code-branch/5-1-2
5.1.1: Initial patch release post the launch of 5.1 -- highly
recommended for all installations. Full release notes
http://www.farcrycore.org/code-branch/5-1-1

Upgrading from an earlier version of 5.1 only requires copying the
code base over the top of the existing framework, and restarting your
applications.  If you are upgrading from earlier versions of FarCry
you might need to run an “updater” to assist in the migration — give
us a shout in the developer forums and we’ll see what we can do to
help.

Enjoy!

For Railo, it should be noted that the latest Railo release does not work.  However, 3.1.0.012 does work correctly in linux (and in windows for Marco, I believe).  Just in case anyone else cares ;).

Yeah... I was going to put together a blog post on installing Railo
3.1.0.012 + FarCry 5.1.x (core, really, but now that the community build
is updated, that one will work) + Unbuntu 8.10 + Apache 2.2.x + MySQL
5.x... just haven't had time to put it together due to other competing
(eg "paid") tasks taking precedence.

I'll give it another stab tonight once I've downgraded but the bug
that was catching me out was this one -

Railo: The name [query] is already used by a Build in Function
http://bugs.farcrycms.org/browse/FC-1866

Noticed it's been moved to 5-1-7 but this was a show stopper during
the install on 5-1-0.

I've just upgraded core to 5.1.6 on my development machine. Now i am
getting an error:

What may cause that?

Strangely it causes for one application and does not do anything to
others (i am using single core for multiple appications).

Thanks,

Mika

Mika,

1. What is your setup? (SQL, CFML Engine, etc)
2. Have you done an updateapp on the site in question?
3. Did you check to see if anything needs to be updated in the COAPI
administrator?

Regards,

It is CF8, with SQL Server 2005. It does not come to any screen i can
do updateapp. Actually the core version i've download from your site
in minor shows 7. Is that 5.1.7 version?
I've grabbed another copy of community release 5.1.6 from farcrycore.
Will check if that will do it.

Thanks,

Mika

Using railo-3.1.0.015-resin-with-jre-windows, and farcry-
community-5-1-6, i get the following error:

Table 'shop.configreseller' doesn't exist at
com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createSQLException(SQLError.java:936):936 at
(see included file for complete error).

configreseller is indeed a config file but stored in farconfig,
somehow the configreseller is seen as a table of the database "shop".

Bugged to:

http://bugs.farcrycms.org/browse/FC-1907.

There is a known bug in Railo 3.1.0.015 (https://jira.jboss.org/jira/
browse/RAILO-247). I believe the fix has been included in the next
Rail release. You will either have to wait for the next beta release
or use the preview releases mentioned on the Railo list.
