Farcry Slideshow plugin

I have been working on a slideshow plugin for FarCry that uses the jQuery cycle framework.

The project is detailed here: http://code.google.com/p/farcry-cycle/ and you can either download files as a zip or check out the project using SVN.

Often I have found that a slideshow is a requirement for many sites, and the big advantage of using jQuery over a technology such as flash is that it does not rely on external plugins, so will work reliably in more browsers. The cycle plugin for jQuery, on which this is based, is excellent: http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/

Have a look, let me know how you go.

Joel

Wow - that looks neat Joel.

Have you thought about using categories?
That way when you add a photo you you tag it with on or more categories.
Then select the category(ies) to display in the rule.

Would be more convenient if you have lots of photos
or if they more are added after the rule is set up.

Thanks AJ

No I haven't thought of that, to be honest it's a bare bones implementation that could be improved upon. The code is relatively straightforward; it may just be a matter of modifying the 'slide' type to add the field and then creating a new rule to get items by category.

Feel free to take the code and do with it as you please.
