Hi,

I am trying to find a good contactless reader for pcscd. I'm taking a
poll. Do you have a favorite contactless rfid reader? Hopefully it works
with the open source ccid driver. Thanks for your input.

I presume the omnikey one is the omnikey 5321? I am having problems with
the 5321.

Do you have experience with the SDL 010? I don't need the contact reader
feature of the SDI 010.

Thanks,
Sean

I used the SDI010 a lot over the last year and it was working
fine. However:
- when I got the readers from Smartcard Focus they had an old firmware
that we strongly believe was responsible for breaking some of our
  cards.
- after the firmware update the open source driver only worked for
  the contact interface
- for the contactless interface I had to install the driver from
  scm
- after convincing pcscd to actually use the scm driver instead
of the open source one the reader works fine.

Bye,

Hendrik

ACR122 works fine with open source ccid driver, but you have to use
special apdus to talk to the wireless interface. Documentation does
exist and it works with jmrtd for example.

Gemalto is working on a product called GemProx DU. It is a dual
interface reader: one contact interface and one contactless interface.
It is also planned a GemProx PU with only the contactless interface.
The reader should be available at the end of 2009.

I am working with Gemalto to add full support of this reader in my
CCID driver [1] on GNU/Linux and Mac OS X. So I would say it is my
favorite contactless reader.
