Would it be possible to (optionally) add Subject, From and Date to the
Save Mail? Copied from the mail being saved. Not the same as "Pipe
thru", which does not provide the ability to direct the mail being
saved to a particular file.

I might have misunderstood you: does "Pipe Through" with the command  
line "cat > ~/saved-message" not do what you want?

Well, no.  What I would like is something identical to the present
"Save Current Part" with the additional info of Subject, Date and From.
This would include the file/directory navigation/selection menu.
