I think we have this implemented in 1.0.2. Visit the payee view, select the payee and choose the 'Default account' tab. So in case you have this option set to "Same transaction if amount differs less than X percent" and selected a percentage of 0 the transactions for your grocery and gas will be presented and you can select one that matches or skip it completely to enter a new one.
