Field Output

Hi all,
I have used abaqus for quite a while now at my work place. I am currently working on dynamic/explicit analysis of composites.
Recently, I was trying to define multiple field output variables (not history output variable) with different parameters in my dynamic/Explicit analysis.
But, when the simulation was finished, only the first field output variable was written for the contour plots, while the rest of them were ignored by Abaqus?
I would be grateful if you can explain the solution for this problem or tell me whether it is possible to define multiple field output variables?
Thank you so much for your considerations and hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,Musabbir

spring stiffness distribution in a fiber reinforced model

Hi,

I am modelling a system that have have fiber reinforced, I want to use spring element to model the fiber matrix. the springs are linking any two nodes in horizontal direction in each element.  The stiffness of the whole fiber matrix is K. the problem is, for different mesh density, fig 1 and 2.  what the individual spring stifness(k1 and k2) should be to represent
the whole spring stiffness K. load is in the horizontal direction only.
1254, 2365,4578,5689in fig1 (2X2 mesh) mean the continuum element.   k1 means the stiffness of spring connecting those two nodes next to it.

similar for fig2

1  k1  2  k1  3                     1  k2   2  k2   3  k2   4

4  k1  5  k1  6                     5  k2   6  k2   7  k2   8

7  k1  8  k1  9                     9  k2   10 k2  11 k2  12
       fig1                                        fig2

thank you
yankai

You can definitely have more than one field output request.  I would
recommend reviewing the definition of the second request to make sure
it's correct.  Also, check your *.dat file for warning messages related
to the output request.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave,
Thank you so so much for taking the time out to reply to my email.
I tried suppressing my first field output and then ran the simulation again. But, still, it took only the first one (which previously was second field output) into account. This, i guess, confirms that me field output definition was right.
I was wondering that is there any built-in settings which are causing this behaviour?
And can we see the thickness of the shell in Abaqus? I know that Abaqus have the capability of showing the line as a beam in 3-d, but I dont know about shell elements?
Thank you once again and hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,Musabbir
