Focus changes while dragging iconsHi,
In nautilus (and other applications) the focus of windows changes when the user is dragging an icon (file) over it. This is quite annoying when for example a bigger window suddenly hide a smaller one where you precisely want to drop the file. On other OS (MacOSX and MS/Windows) when you drag a file the focus stay unchanged. So what do you think about that? What should be the behavior? Any idea? What should be the behavior? The behaviour in MacOS X and Windows is correct, but it's for technical reasons it's not implemented. Check bugizlla under gtk+. I "use" this feature and found it useful as often you need to hit a specific area of the window that might be hidden. As the focusing is delayed it never run into my way. Btw, You can also hover a window-list entry and the window get raised. > On other OS (MacOSX and MS/Windows) when you drag a file the focus > stay unchanged. At least on windows you can also drag onto a window list entry. This does not work on GNOME, maybe for technically reasons. This possibility reduces the need of "managing" windows while drag'n'drop. -- Florian Ludwig <dino@...> _______________________________________________ Usability mailing list Usability@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/usability |

Focus follows mouse v. click to focus, perhaps? -- Mackenzie Morgan http://ubuntulinuxtipstricks.blogspot.com apt-get moo _______________________________________________ Usability mailing list Usability@... http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/usability |
