Free Ubuntu BooksHello,
I just sent my request to Prentice Hall re:Free Books For Approved LoCo Teams[1]. Jono Bacon has been great in giving us this opportunity to get our hands on a hard copy of their books. HOWEVER, my dilemma is figuring out how to share this to members of our team. Thoughts? Re: Free Ubuntu BooksI'm sure they thought of a possible scheme on how the loco team heads can share the book. Otherwise.. better for them to sell it on a discounted price.

Re: Free Ubuntu BooksDistribute it to the other approved members and have them manage the
distribution in their respective localities would be more appropriate rather than selling something you received for free in the first place. I just learned that its just two books anyway. Might as well have it in stock for now and raffle it in an upcoming event (SFD for example). I don't think that breaks the agreement. -- Cheers, Jerome -- ubuntu-ph mailing list ubuntu-ph@... https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-ph |

I can help with the distribution, most of the time I'm at SM Mall of Asia weekly. Or those who will get it from me can meet me at the Magallanes/Mantrade MRT station - no need to get out of the station, I'll just hand it over the fence :pYolynne Medina wrote: By any chance, are there eBook or PDF versions? Although I'm sure there are exceptions for educational use (read: teachers and students only and part of their course - hey, you're qualified Yolynne!). > I can help with the distribution, most of the time I'm at SM Mall of > Asia weekly. I just need to worry about the shippping charge since Prentice Hall will not cover it. hehe. > By any chance, are there eBook or PDF versions? I haven't seen it ^^ I think there's a paid pdf version, you can back up a copy, but not allowed to pass it on to someone - only the hard copy. -- Dax Solomon Umaming http://blog.knightlust.com/ -- ubuntu-ph mailing list ubuntu-ph@... https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-ph |

Hi Dax, Hmm, if we can not photocopy it since it's "All Rights Reserved", what will happen then is I'll give the book to interested individuals then they have to return it back? Hehe, this is one of the moment when we can wish they used Creative Commons License :p Best Regards, -- JC John Sese Cuneta ᜑᜓᜏᜈ᜔ / 謝施洗 http://Laibcoms.asia jcjohn@... Laibeus@... Re: Free Ubuntu BooksHi Yolynne,
AFAIK, they are not exempted. Only that IP is not strictly enforced in this part of the world.
