Subject: FreeNX not compatible with the latest NXClient (3.4.0)?

I just tried the FreeNX server from the PPA on Hardy (64-bit), and the latest
NXClient (which is the only one nomachines has available for download) doesn't
seem to be compatible...

From NXClient running on Hardy, talking to the local server:

NX> 203 NXSSH running with pid: 31347
NX> 285 Enabling check on switch command
NX> 285 Enabling skip of SSH config files
NX> 285 Setting the preferred NX options
NX> 200 Connected to address: 127.0.1.1 on port: 22
NX> 202 Authenticating user: nx
NX> 208 Using auth method: publickey
HELLO NXSERVER - Version 3.2.0-74-SVN OS (GPL, using backend: 3.3.0)
NX> 105 NX> 280 Exiting on signal: 15

qtnx connected just fine, and I managed to find a 3.3.0 client for Windows,
which also connected just fine.

Does anyone happen to have i386 and amd64 debs for the previous NXClient? Or
better, is there a quick fix?

Thanks,

I haven't had any problems after upgrading my 32 and 64 bit Gentoo clients to
3.4.0 so I don't think there's a fundamental incompatibility. I'm connecting
to a CentOS server though, so there may be an Ubuntu-specific problem.

Hi,

I use currently nxclient 3.4.0 on Ubuntu 9.04 x86_64 to a RHEL 4. x86_64 Server with nx-3.3.0-13 and latest freenx incl. Mailinglist patches and everything is working fine.

Cheers,
Florian
