Full disk not being read

I have used dd_rescue and ddrescue and with both programs it only reads 3 GB of a 60 GB drive.  Is there something else I need to do to get all the data off the drive?  It's not making any noise or anything so I don't think that there has been a serious head crash but maybe i'm wrong.

Any ideas or help?  Would I be best trying to run mhdd or something to get the rest of the data accessible?
