Hi,
your extension "QuickQuote" has quite interesting features.
On feature around quotation, which I regard as very important, I miss:
Insert text as an external quotation.
What do I mean with external?
A text (in the clipboard) which does not come from the actual thread
(not important if mail or news).
Sources could be:
1 Another thread in any newsgroup
2 Another thread in any mail-correspondence
3 A text from outside of Thunderbird, may be a website
My wish is, that a keyboard shortcut inserts the text well formated with
the typcial quoteinitial, the "|" into any message.
If the text is from Thunderbird than the quotation should optionally
begin or end with a line to specify the origin.
If it is not from Thunderbird, than no orin will be inserted.
Example:
******************

| commodo consequat.

The main point is to be able to distinguish strictly between normal
quotations and external quotations - realized with the two common
quoteinitials for that purposes: ">" and "|"
The newsreader 40tude-dialogue for example offers an insertation of text
as an external quotation and allows to configure the quoteinitial.
May be you like my suggestion.
Regards, Andreas
PS: Quickquote 0.8PR produces errors after installing with TB 1.5 (de)
