Hi guys, I’ll be speaking at the Wellington .NET user group next
Wednesday about Domain Driven Design. It’s intended as an introductory
session, so content will include:

    * Domain model basics (domain experts, ubiquitous language etc)
    * Building blocks (entities, value types, specifications,
repositories, aggregate roots etc)
    * Anticorruption layers and bounded contexts
    * Making roles explicit
    * Persistence ignorance
    * Validation patterns
    * The onion architecture
    * When not to use DDD

The talk is on Wed 23 Sept at 6pm at Xero, Level 1, 98 Customhouse
Quay (Above Workshop), Wellington. If you’re interested, please RSVP
to kirkj@.... As usual there will be free pizza and beer!

More details below.

Cheers,

Domain Driven Design (DDD) is a topic that's been gaining a lot of
popularity in both the Java and .NET camps recently. Entities, value
types, repositories, bounded contexts and anti-corruption layers --
find out what all the buzz is about, and how establishing a domain
model can help you combat complexity in your code.

Richard Dingwall is a .NET developer and blogger with a passion for
architecture and maintainable code.

He is currently working at Provoke Solutions as lead developer on a
six-month project introducing test-driven development (TDD) and
domain-driven design (DDD) to a large ASP.NET ERP system.
