GIMP brushes

I was looking around on google for GIMP brushes. And I was wondering
if people who converted Photoshop brushes to GIMP brushes, I was
wondering if that was illegal or not. I didn't want to download them
if they were illegal. Because I would rather not go to jail for
something like that.
