GPL violations in ASUS EEE PC and Xandros OS

The wildly-popular and wildly-lucrative ASUS EEE PC,
which is pre-installed with KDE and Xandros Linux, has
come under scrutiny for not providing source code to
GPL-licensed kernel modules
(http://www.itbusinessedge.com/blogs/osb/?p=273).

Has anyone looked into whether any KDE applications
installed on the ASUS EEE PC also lack source code
(http://eeepc.asus.com/en/download.htm)? Any
EEE-specific or Xandros-specific applications that
link to (#include <...>) any GPL-licensed KDE
module/header file must comply to the GPL and have
source code available.

Stan

This is probably already irrelevant. Asus seems to have provided the source
code and is offering an SDK for the Eee PC.

Good to know that the source code is available and
that ASUS and Xandros are collaborating with KDE
developers. Hopefully the bugfixes and new apps that
appear in the EEE PC will be backported to the KDE
SVN.
