GRAMPS on Windows-7 RC1

I loaded Windows-7 RC1 onto a spare disk as a test of Msoft's newest OS.

I loaded GRAMPS 3.1.1 after first installing Python 2.5.1, GTK+ 2.10.11, pygtk 2.10.6, pygobject 2.12.3 and pycairo 1.2.

A few odd error messages popped up during some package installs but since they were mostly about log files, etc., I ignored them. Anyway, all is well GRAMPS runs very well on Windows-7, although I haven't tested every function. It loaded in my database and presented all my usual screens.

By the way, concerning Win7 itself. It is "cute" and has a few useful minor features but I cannot see a compelling reason for switching to it. Personally, I find it a bit more difficult to work with. Things that are simple in XP take, for me at least, many more clicks to do in Win7. It is probably a familiarity issue that would improve in time. I have XP on my main machine and Ubuntu 9.04 on another machine that "may" become my main machine - we'll see.
