card with a SPARCstation 5? The GT's contemporary would be an SS1 or SS2. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/download/index.html> Legalize Adulthood! <http://blogs.xmission.com/legalize/> _______________________________________________ rescue list - http://www.sunhelp.org/mailman/listinfo/rescue |

talk about the GT on the SS10. Seems like OpenBSD/sparc may "just work" .. SUNW droped support for the GT in Solaris 2.5, according to the JPL docs. http://www-mipl.jpl.nasa.gov/install/sparcgraphics.html http://www.openbsd.org/sparc.html On Fri, Jun 26, 2009 at 11:19 AM, Richard <legalize@...> wrote: > Does anyone know if you can use the GT (graphics tower) Sbus interface > card with a SPARCstation 5? Now there's a source for a host interface, so I'm wondering if the host I have will work with it. Next will be to get a cable between the two and then finally will be software... -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/download/index.html> Legalize Adulthood! <http://blogs.xmission.com/legalize/> _______________________________________________ rescue list - http://www.sunhelp.org/mailman/listinfo/rescue |

actual shipping cost) drop me a note... SS5's max out at 256M, SS10 and SS20 go to 512M, and support more, and faster, CPUs... Might make for more enjoyable tinkering. Might make for more enjoyable tinkering. I picked up an SS5 locally for $5. The price was right :-). It also has a GPIB board in it, which is unusual. It included the usual keyboard, mouse and optical mousepad. At this point, I'm more interested in just seeing if I can get the GT to work. Maybe at some point I will look into getting a better SS, but my focus is on graphics. And yes, I know the GT is a shitty graphics system :-). But it was free and even shitty graphics systems have a place in my museum. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" -- DirectX 9 draft available for download <http://www.xmission.com/~legalize/book/download/index.html> Legalize Adulthood! <http://blogs.xmission.com/legalize/> _______________________________________________ rescue list - http://www.sunhelp.org/mailman/listinfo/rescue |

backup tape) of Xenix 3.2f for the Altos 686 or 886 ? The Xenix kernel appears to be contamined and the backup too. I agree it a lot, sincerely. Regards Sergio _______________________________________________ rescue list - http://www.sunhelp.org/mailman/listinfo/rescue |
