Gallery reviewThe Photoforum Gallery is on the web at
<http://people.rit.edu/andpph/gallery.html>. Dan Mitchell <javascript:{}> -- Rooftops -- I find rooftops are almost always more interesting on older buildings, in older cities, than they are around where I live. But still, this view doesn't manage to come together for me. The subject appears to be the white wall at lower right, with the stairway up it, and that doesn't seem to be really enough to sustain the photo for me. D.L. Shipman -- Now that's weird, and colorful. And the background sets it off nicely. Tim Mulholland <javascript:{}> -- Confliction -- Now there's a complicated situation. Your relating of the story adds to the photo for me. The rain on the photo is nice, and the grass somewhat obscuring it, but not actually obscuring his face. John Palcewski -- <javascript:{}>OMIGOD...I'm OLD! -- This is not the week to look for sympathy from me; my birthday was last week. I like the photo. The expression of terror is total -- eyes, mouth, head position, muscles in the cheeks and neck. The wood trim at left is distracting. Laurenz Bobke -- <javascript:{}>Dragonfly -- Wow, that's a lovely bit of color. Trevor Cunningham -- <javascript:{}>oblivion -- Nice aerial perspective. The three bits of rock, each thrusting further to the right in the photo, and each further away, are nice. Looks kinda dry :-). Emily L. Ferguson -- effortless <javascript:{}> -- Doesn't come together into anything for me; just elements sitting there. Christopher Strevens -- <javascript:{}>Tunnel at Hindhead -- here in Minnesota, we call the two seasons "snow removal" and "road construction". (Or else joke about "snow construction" and "road removal"; they've removed major bits of the freeway close to my house that I use most often, and won't be putting them back for another year or two.) Thanks to all who participated in the gallery this week! -- David Dyer-Bennet, dd-b@...; http://dd-b.net/ Snapshots: http://dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/data/ Photos: http://dd-b.net/photography/gallery/ Dragaera: http://dragaera.info |
