Gbrowse Installation Problem

I'm running Ubuntu 9+ on my system, and after following the instructions on the Gbrowse wiki page, I supposedly have Gbrowse installed, and I have access to the Gbrowse documentation if I go through my apache2 webserver's htdocs directory. The directory http://localhost/gbrowse does not seem to exist, however. http://localhost/cgi-bin/gbrowse/yeast supposedly does not exist (http://localhost/cgi-bin/gbrowse appears to be a file) and http://localhost/cgi-bin/gbrowse/volvox also fails to work, even though I completed all of the steps of the tutorial correctly up until the point I needed to access this program.

I'll add that I selected the defaults throughout the installation process, and I've only installed what the guide told me to install on this computer. What could be wrong here?

Thank you for your time,
Anthony Druen

Hi Anthony,

When you say you accepted the defaults, do you remember what any of
them where?  The most common problem related to what you are
describing is if /usr/local/apache exists, the installer will put
everything there, rather than the Ubuntu default locations.
