Hi,

I'm the only Linux user at the company I'm working for, and we're
trying to move on using smartcard USB tokens (smartcard reader with
built-in card).

I'm using Ubuntu Karmic, installed pcscd-1.5.3 and libccid-1.3.10.

uname -a:
Linux hackworth 2.6.31-11-generic #38-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 2 11:06:40
UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I've downloaded pcsc-lite-1.5.5 and ccid-1.3.11 from the project page,
configured && made && installed, and attached the
sudo env LIBCCID_ifdLogLevel=0x0007 pcscd --foreground --debug --apdu
output.

/usr/local/sbin/pcscd --version:
pcsc-lite version 1.5.5.

Report bugs to <muscle@...>.
Enabled features: Linux libhal usbdropdir=/usr/local/pcsc/drivers
confdir=/etc ipcdir=/var/run/pcscd

Any idea why "ifdhandler.c:104:IFDHCreateChannelByName() failed" and
what shall I do?

Thanks in advance,
GThomas

http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html#support

I can't find your log file in your previous mail.

Not, but bought the required 20 tokens (small company) - it is
possible to use a different reader/card if absolutely inevitable, but
I'd try this token first.

Used, same results. Installed the latest just to opt out the "try the
latest first" response.

Of course - see
http://www.opensc-project.org/pipermail/opensc-user/2009-October/thread.html
Not mutch luck: it seems that the reader is working, but can't read the card ?!?
