GeoRSS WikiThere seems to be some good discussion beginning again on finishing up
some very long running threads. Also - some of you have noticed that the current site has had "issues". Drupal is quite powerful, but with power comes much maintenance and administration. Therefore, Mikel and I migrated the site to a MediaWiki install - but wanted to get feedback from the community before switching over the main site. You can see it here: http://georss.org/wiki/ I have made an effort to retain the original URL for pages that existed on the original site and then the Drupal site. (e.g. http://georss.org/wiki/simple and http://georss.org/wiki/gml) Also - to better manage the XML schemas, I created a Subversion repository that tracks changes and is easier to maintain/update the site. http://svn.georss.org/schema/ The goal is to make the ease of collaboration, information gathering, and progress of the format easier, while also decreasing the required administrative overhead. Please let me know what you think and if this is an acceptable replacement for the current GeoRSS.org site. many thanks, Andrew _______________________________________________ georss mailing list georss@... http://lists.eogeo.org/mailman/listinfo/georss |

Re: GeoRSS WikiThanks to you and Mikel for working on this, and for posting the
corrected schemas. We should probably have some discussion (metadiscussion?) about refactoring, to distinguish better the model, the encodings (xml, owl, rdf-a, rpn, etc.), the "practices" such link schemes, the cookbook (use cases / examples / case studies), the schemas (what is a unified GML profile schema again?), and the proposals (e.g. georss:alternateUniverse). --Josh On Apr 21, 2009, at 10:16 PM, Andrew Turner wrote: > There seems to be some good discussion beginning again on finishing up > some very long running threads. As a wiki - it's free to edit. I think especially, as you pointed out, the Encodings and Examples/cookbook are way past due. > > --Josh > > On Apr 21, 2009, at 10:16 PM, Andrew Turner wrote: > >> There seems to be some good discussion beginning again on finishing up >> some very long running threads. Re: GeoRSS WikiLet's give it a week for everyone to take a look, and raise any objections? We should keep the old site around for a bit, for reference in case we missed anything. For the schemas and the existing namespace uri (http://www.georss.org/georss), let's set up redirects. We should at least make sure the namespace uri links to something useful. -Mikel From: Chris Krahe <chris.krahe@...> To: Andrew Turner <ajturner@...> Cc: GeoRSS <georss@...> Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 5:04:20 AM Subject: Re: [georss] GeoRSS Wiki The conversion works for me.
