I'd like to use gourmet in German but there are a lot of untranslated
strings in 0.14.3 and 0.13.8. Also there are many discrepancies between
the different locales (de, de_AT, de_DE) which are not reasonable. At
launchpad/rosetta i saw that there was some effort by different people
and all strings were translated for the de-locale. Can you merge those?
Is there anyone who coordinates the translation efforts to German?
Although there are a lot of differences between German and Austrian
language, especially when talking about food, it might be better to end
the current chaos by discarding the old translations and to take the
"de"-translations from rosetta for all locales?
I have no experience with i18n but i'm a native speaker with basic
computer/linux/programming skills willing to assist.
I tried to download the current translations from rosetta and use them
with gourmet but it seems that i always get the old texts. I replaced
the .po and the .mo files. Is there anything else to do?
[1] states that there are packages for Ubuntu/Debian but "Downloads"
only offers tarballs. Are there packages?
Regards,
Christian

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
