Getting read of the acrobat plug-in in Debian

Dear group,

I recently had to install acrobat reader to read a pdf file that xpdf
couldn't.   Since then the behaviour of conkeror when opening pdf files
has changed, now every time I follow a link to a pdf file the it opens
it in an acrobat window embedded inside the conkeror frame.   How can
I go back to the default behaviour of every time I follow a pdf
link conkeror asking what I want to do with it?

This behaviour exists in both the packaged conkeror and the conkeror I
got through git.  I do have in my .conkerorrc:

   define_mime_type_external_handler("application/pdf", "xpdf");

Thanks for any help,
Nikos

You need to disable that plugin.
Since this is a common question, I wrote some instructions in the wiki about that: http://conkeror.org/Plugins

And since the website stopped working after I did some tests with the wiki… (I hope it wasn't me!), I paste here the instructions:

1. M-x extensions RET
2. Go to the „Plugins“ section
3. Look for the bad plugin
4. Click its button „Disable“

Worked like a charm.  Thanks.
